Do you love worlds full of strange monsters? Do you want to create your own? Contained herein are tables, advice and guidance to do just that.

Monsters Unleashed is system agnostic. Some Unleashed engine mechanics are included to ground the guidance and help adapt it to your needs.

Monsters should be weird, unexpected, unknown, twisted and just sometimes familiar. They are sometimes our dark reflections. Other times they are that which we fear and must conquer to obtain our desires (i.e. treasure).

Creating Unique Monsters

The heart of Monsters Unleashed! is its utility as a monster builder to help you create strange monsters. First though, we want to put this in context of our advice on making unique fantasy worlds. Then we provide tables to build monsters for any system, and provide two examples.
We then make an example fantasy world, the Shield Marshes, following our own advice. The final section provides stats for some of the monsters made using the unleashed engine.

Monsters Unleashed is a 20 page zine with 20 randomizable traits for your monsters. It contains example monsters, and a setting where we follow our own advice The Shield Marshes. 

It is a compliment to the Dungeons Unleashed booklet, which can currently be downloaded for free.
